The SCAI Annual Scientific Sessions in Partnership with ACC i2 Summit (SCAI-ACCi2)
offers the best of both worlds — SCAI trademarks, such as the Hildner and Founders Lectures, Judkins Cardiac Imaging Symposium, and Hemodynamics Symposium, alongside i2 Summit favorites including the exciting late-breaking clinical trials and live case transmissions.  Building on the successes of SCAI’s and ACC’s past meetings, SCAI-ACCi2 is a professional event worthy of the interventionalist, a meeting with substance and stature consolidating educational, clinical, practical and community needs into one comprehensive, dynamic experience.

Here’s a preview of what you can expect over the course of four days at SCAI-ACCi2:
  • Daily programming on coronary, peripheral/carotid, and structural topics
  • Pediatric programming on Sunday and Monday
  • Live case transmissions from seven sites worldwide
  • Late-breaking clinical trials daily
  • Case reviews on IVUS, left main, CTO, valvular and structural procedures, bifurcation, complications, endovascular procedures, and great saves
  • Debates on COURAGE, PCI versus CABG, DES selection, embolic protection, vulnerable plaque, 2b3a inhibitors, PFO closure for stroke, percutaneous AVR in Europe, elective PCI, and carotid stenting in asymptomatic patients
  • Emerging technologies and oral abstracts sessions
  • Special programming for fellows-in-training, nurses, and cath administrators

Program Goals

  • Providing a focused venue to train, educate and guide interventionalists and cardiac care team members
  • Providing state-of-the-art knowledge in the latest interventional concepts and technologies
  • Encouraging dialogue between the multiple stakeholders in treating patients requiring cardiovascular interventions
  • Exploring the present and future challenges for interventional cardiovascular treatment strategies
  • Demonstrating long-term vision and commitment to the worldwide interventional community

Educational Objectives

  • Identify and compare current and cutting-edge interventions (coronary, peripheral and valvular)
  • Describe the challenges currently facing interventional cardiac care team members
  • Translate evidence-based science and clinical trial data into daily interventional practice
  • Analyze and critique new approaches to non-surgical management of peripheral vascular disease
  • Assess state-of-the-art knowledge in the latest concepts and technologies

Target Audience

SCAI-ACCi2 is intended for interventional cardiologists and radiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, vascular specialists, scientists and clinical trialists. While much of the program content is specially geared to the worldwide community of interventional physicians and scientists, other health care professionals including medical students and trainees, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and technicians will also benefit from the depth and diversity of the program.
